Biography
NICOLE BLANCHARD
Painter of Paris
Nicole Blanchard was born in Paris in 1943. She is the daughter of the internationally renowned master impressionist, Antoine Blanchard. As a child, Nicole would join her father on location, most usually the boulevards of Paris, where she would learn directly from him a marvelous mastery of technique; a faultless eye for architecture and an understanding sympathy for the numerous lively characters of their beloved city.
Critics acclaim her imagination and refined use of color, and laud her ability to capture lights and recreate the atmosphere of yesterday’s Paris.
Nicole Blanchard completed her studies at the Ecolé Des Beaux Arts with a focus in classical training and modern techniques. She still however maintains a style that is very much in the tradition of her father, choosing to recollect and imagine Paris during the eighteen and nineteen hundreds. Although Nicole’s style is similar to that of her fathers, she is not with out her own voice. Some claim that Nicole paints with greater fluidity and boldness, often useing delicate gestures and generous colors to create a much livelier depiction, with nearly all of her characters in motion.
Using the sensibility she inherited from her father, Nicole paints a Paris that never sleeps, a city alive and bustling with activity. She is not content to simply paint historic buildings or national monuments but rather recreates a way of life as it was from morning to evening in fall, winter, spring, and summer.
Nicole has exhibited with great success in the major Salons of France and her paintings have shown in the most prestigious international galleries.
Gallerie Je Reviens is pleased to make the work of Nicole Blanchard available for your viewing pleasure.
